Prayer Requests Week 7

Hi friends,

I hope this email finds you well! This week we have two new prayer requests. First of all, please be praying that lots of people would come & buy at the sale, so much so that we have minimal to no things left over!

Secondly, please be praying for lots of positive (and free!) "press" for this event! It's amazing because I haven't even asked for prayer in this area yet and already God is starting to answer! This coming week I'm meeting with a writer from the PennySaver (and similar local papers) and she is going to interview me for an article about my event that is going to go on the front page of the paper in a few weeks! How cool is that?! Only God, my friends, only God. :) I'm not sure which paper it will be in because our church is on the line of two districts, but I'll let you know when I find out! Also, please keep sharing this event with people you know. Tell them about it, show them the website, whatever you have to do. Just please spread the word! It is so essential.

Please continually be praying for the hearts of all involved in each step of Operation Water. I come in contact with so many people because of this and it is a great opportunity for God to work.

Oh, and by the way, hopefully later this week there will be more pictures added to the "Gallery" page of this website of some of the items for sale and that will be a part of the auction, so be on the lookout for that!

Thanks!
God Bless,

Colleen :)

Prayer Requests Week 6

Hey there beautiful people!

I hope that you all had a great week! If you didn't, I hope this coming week is so wonderful it makes up for the difficulty of the last one. Things are continuing to progress as we're now another week closer to Operation Water 2016! Things are coming together so well! It's really exciting to see how God just continues and continues to be at work in this!

This week, please pray for nice weather for the event on June 25. Nice temperature (maybe about 70 degrees), not too much wind (but a light breeze might be nice), and no rain! Yes, I understand that this is very specific, but I truly believe that the more specific our prayers are, the easier it is to see when God answers. I'm truly believing that God will answer!

Thanks for your continued prayer and support!
God Bless,

Colleen :)

Prayer Requests Week 5

Happy Mother's Day to all of the moms out there! Thanks for all that you do to make the world a better place! You're awesome! :)

This week has been amazing in terms of Operation Water progress. I started on my quest for silent auction items and it has been going really well so far! So much better than I expected! I have a few items "in hand" and I'm confident that there are many more on the way. God is so good! Many doors have opened up this week and I am excited to share more about that over the next few weeks!

During this coming week, please be praying for good health for myself and all of my volunteers, specifically on June 25 but also in the time leading up to then as well.

Also, please continue to pray for the hearts of all involved in this event. Just this week I've gotten to meet so many new people and share my vision for this event with them. I hope that in some way I was a light of Christ's love to them. That's why it's really important that we continue to pray for the hearts of all involved each step of the way. There are many interactions along this journey leading up to Operation Water that happen, in addition to just the people who will be at the actual event.

Thanks for all of your support and prayers! God just keeps blowing me away. I pray that that would continue even more as we get closer and closer to the event!

God Bless,

Colleen :)

The answer to a frequently asked question...

So many people have come to me asking about donating items for the yard sale portion of this event and I am so excited about all that we are going to have to sell!

One question has come up over & over so I want to address it. The question is: Will we be taking furniture? Answer: Somewhat.

We will NOT accept large items (ie. couches, entertainment centers, recliners, beds, dining room tables/sets, etc.) but we will accept smaller furniture such as end tables, small desks, smaller bookshelves, lamps, basic chairs, card tables, etc. If you have a question about if your item is something that we will accept or not, please email me at operationwater2013@gmail.com.

I am not publicly posting donation information because I'm mostly collecting from churches and word of mouth with family, friends, and friends of friends. If you really would like to contribute in this way and have good condition items you would like to donate (clothes, housewares, toys, tools, books, etc.) send me an email to the address listed above and I will give you the drop off dates and times.

Thanks!

Prayer Requests Week 4

Hi all,

Happy Sunday & Happy May 1st! How crazy is it that it's May already? Boy how time flies! Thanks for all of your continued prayers for my event and thank you to all who have reached out to me offering help in many different ways. I am so thankful.

This week, I am asking that you would join me in asking God to provide lots of people to make baked goods for the sale. This is an important part of this event and I am hoping for lots of baked goods to sell!

Also, starting this week I will be going to ask businesses to donate items for the silent auction. This is really not my thing, and I'm not completely excited about doing it, but it's part of the job. :) Please pray for confidence for me as I present my vision and ask for donations and please pray for generous business owners who want to partner with me by contributing to this cause.

Thanks everyone! I hope you each have a great week!

God Bless,

Colleen :)

Prayer Requests Week 3

Hey there!

Two months from tomorrow is Operation Water 2016! Wow! Thank you to all who have been and will be a part of it! I am so grateful for you all. :) I'm glad God has brought each one of you into my life. I'm excited to do this project together!

For those of you who don't know, my church (Calvary Chapel of Lancaster) shares a building with Community United Methodist Church. They have their service first thing and then we have ours after. They are graciously allowing me to use our church's parking lot for Operation Water. Because of that, I wanted to take a week leading up to the fundraiser to pray specifically for their church congregation and leadership. I am so thankful they're allowing me to use this space for my event so I want to honor them by lifting them up in prayer this week.

Also, please continually pray for the hearts of all of those involved with Operation Water throughout each step of the process. Pray that those who don't know the Lord would somehow come to know Him through all of this and that those who already know Him would somehow be strengthened.

Thanks everyone! Have a fantastic week!

God Bless,

Colleen :)

Prayer Requests Week 2

Hi awesome people!

Operation Water is now one week closer! Woohoo! :)

This week, please join with me in prayer that God will provide lots of volunteers to help with this event. This includes leading up to the sale (and during the week before), setting up that morning, during the actual event, and tear down afterward. Lots of people are needed to make an event like this work, so I'd greatly appreciate prayer in this area so that God will bring the right people together!

Thanks!
God Bless,

Colleen :)

Prayer Requests Week 1

In the time leading up to Operation Water, I am sending out specific, weekly prayer requests so that this event can be completely covered in prayer. Or drenched in pray as I like to say. :) I think that the more specifically we pray, the easier it is to see when God answers.

I understand that not everyone interested in this event will be able to directly help with it, whether it be because of a schedule conflict, distance, or something else. But prayer is a powerful thing, and distance doesn't limit God. So I ask that you would please join me in prayer for this event!

For week one, we are praising God for the successful event that we will have! We are also focusing on asking God for lots of quality donations for the yard sale portion of this event. The more the better! We need lots of items to sell, so I am asking God to provide a plentiful amount of donations.

Also, a continual prayer request that I will ask each week leading up to the event, is for prayer for the hearts of all of those involved with this event each step of the way. I pray that those who do not know Jesus personally will come to know Him and that those who already know Him will somehow be strengthened through this event.

Thanks for your prayers! God Bless You!
